Take part on this exciting half day husky safari and enjoy the sleigh ride in the middle of the arctic nature. We will meet all the enthusiastic Husky dogs and our guide will give us the instructions how to mush a husky-team. After that we will take off with our teams and drive through snow-covered forests and over open plains. Half way we will stop to make a camp fi re and we will grill sausages and have a hot cup to drink.

Husky farm visit and sleigh safari
|
Imagine a ride through silent, snow-covered forest in a sled drawn by the huskies. Pulling a sled is no problem for the dogs and they can reach amazing speeds over hard snow! In our destination, the Ylläs Husky Farm, the husky guide will introduce us to about hundred Alaskan and Siberian huskies and he will give us full driving instructions. Then we are ready to take part in the husky sleigh safari. Every participant gets the chance to try to steer the sleigh (+18). After the trip we will have a hot drink and cookies in a Lappish hut with the people of the husky farm.

Snowmobiling to Husky safari

In this safari we will drive by snowmobiles to the Ylläs Husky Farm, which is situated about 15 kilometres from Äkäslompolo. At the farm we will meet our husky guide, who introduces us to the huskies and gives us driving instructions for the husky sledding. Then we are ready to take part in a five kilometres safari. Every participant gets a chance to steer the sleigh. After the trip we drink coffee in a Lappish tepee with the husky farm people. The Husky sleighs are always shared!

Huskysafari through the scenic wilderness

We get to know about the life at the husky center, learn how to drive with a dogsledge and help to prepare the teams for the day trip. For every "musher" we make an own team with four or five dogs. With these amazing lovely and powerful dogs you have the whole day time to enjoy the breathtaking sceneries. On this peaceful safari you can really feel the wild nature around you. We are in the area of Aakenus Fell, Rauhala and the most beautiful national park in Finland, the Pallas-Ylläs national park.

Huskysafari & Tour of the Animal Park
|
Take a good grip on the handlebar, stand properly on the runners, keep focused on the tails waving in front of you and the tour can start! On the huskysafari you can try how it feels to be a real husky musher. Before we can start the guide gives you a good lesson on husky mushing, and after the arctic experience it´s nice to sit down together and enjoy a cup of warm drink. After the safari it is time to get to know all the 150 interesting animals of the park from nearly 60 different race.

Day at a reindeer farm

Get to know this semi-wild domestic animal at a reindeer farm. Learn everything about reindeer breeding – the most traditional of the livelihoods in the northern regions of Finland and Sweden! Over one and a half century old Lappish country house in Torassieppi, Muonio, is one of the rare places that survived after the Second World War. Riding to a campfire
|
After getting familiarized with the Horses, we will divide the group in half. The first group will ride to the campfire, our coffee place, and the second will enjoy the trip in an open sleigh. After a hot coffee and a bun, our guide will tell us the interesting stories about the horses. On the way back, the groups will change, so everybody has the chance to sit in the sleigh or on the back of the lovely horses.
