Nature trail to the magic thief valley

Varkaankuru, a gully formed by an earthquake many years ago has long been protected from human hands and chainsaws because of its very special nature. This is a well sheltered little brook in a grove that boasts a special fauna. We’ll travel to Ylläs Fell by car where we’ll visit the Kellokas Nature Centre taking a look at its interesting and informative exhibitions. We’ll then begin an 8km hiking trip through Varkaankuru gorge and around Kesänki Lake. We return to Äkäslompolo by car stopping en route to enjoy a well earned meal.

Midnight hiking
 |
Experience the midnight sun (weather permitting) and the white nights of Lapland by hiking. Observe the characteristics and nature of Western Lapland as we follow the Midnight Sun Nature Path from Kellostapulinkuru (Bell’s Tower Gorge) and on to the top of Kellostapuli, a 5.5 kilometer trail along a log path.
