Ancient Finns once rode the Tornio and Äkäs rivers in their boats, searching for new livelihoods and better fishing waters. Today, we follow some of their routes, travelling by traditional, Indian canoe along the Äkas River where we find ourselves at one with nature, many miles away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Our journey begins quite calmly, however a few rapids along the way will change the pace and add variety to the scenic route. We’ll choose a pleasant resting place where we’ll enjoy coffee and a delicious fish meal prepared on the open fire.
