Hospitality runs in the family

Destination Lapland is an adventure house in the Ylläs area, which offers not only high quality accommodation but also a variety of excellent activities. In addition to the Ylläs area, our safaris are also directed to the Finnish and Swedish border regions.

The company’s roots are found at the Keski-Kaulanen house in Äkäslompolo, which was in the 1930s a small village with only a handful of households. Already for the  family business’s founders grandparents the Lappish hospitability was not something one could learn, it was a way of life.

Today’s Destination Lapland still operates in the same way. As we develop our business continuously, we always try to think of newer and better ways to serve our customers. Our goal is, to keep coming here as simple as possible, just like in the old Keski-Kaulanen house, where the host offered his guests a warm reception: “Welcome tired traveller, please make yourself at home.” Read the company's history and learn more about Destination Lapland's interesting story.

Destination Lapland’s new safari house, located in the centre of Äkäslompolo, was finished in January 2008.
