Day 2

10.00 - Meet your guide at the Destination Lapland Safari Office for the start of a full day’s mountain bike tour. We recommend that you make up a pack lunch to take with you.

The Ylläs area with its 7 splendid fells and wonderful nature provides the perfect setting for a memorable day. We’ll enjoy cycling over the flat Lappish landscape around the 7 fells amidst the beautiful scenery of the Pallas National Park. Our one challenging climb will be the ascent to the top of Ylläs fell that will reward you with some stunning views. During the tour we’ll stop to grill sausages on a campfire in the heart of the Lappish forest.

Return to your log cabin where you can relax and unwind as the Finns do – by heating up the sauna, of course!

Day 3

10.00 - Ancient Finns once rode the Tornio and Äkäs rivers in their boats, searching for new livelihoods and better fishing waters. Today, we follow some of their routes, travelling by traditional, Indian canoe along the Äkas River where we find ourselves at one with nature, many miles away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Our journey begins quite calmly, however a few rapids along the way will change the pace and add variety to the scenic route. We’ll choose a pleasant resting place where we’ll enjoy coffee and a delicious fish meal prepared on the open fire.

Return to Äkäslompolo for a few hours leisure time before meeting your guide again for this evening’s activity.

kellostapuli.jpg 21.00 - We make the most of the long summer days and experience the midnight sun (weather permitting) whilst hiking. Observe the characteristics and nature of Western Lapland as we follow the Midnight Sun Nature Path from Kellostapulinkuru (Bell’s Tower Gorge) and on to the top of Kellostapuli, a 5.5 kilometre trail along a log path.

Overnight in your log cabin.

Day 4
