Having stayed in many cabins over the years and exchanging thoughts with accompanying friends, the idea, of what a cabin in such a location had to offer to its visitors and owner, was formed.  Along this journey the owner of Destination Lapland, an active developer of the area's travel services, became an acquaintance. With Ukko's own desires and the Destination Lapland owner's expert advice the holiday log cabin, Karhukaltio, was developed.

Already in a very early stage we agreed on the Destination Lapland Team taking over the on location housing management, meaning the overall maintenance and the year round rental service. Like this, Ukko may lead his every day life in the south, without worrying about his cabin, and whenever possible travel to Äkäslompolo to enjoy the nature and ”recharge” his batteries.

Thanks to the holiday guest's feedback and Destination Lapland's insight Karhukaltio has continuously been developed according to changing needs while preserving its calm atmosphere. The place and its equipment have been kept, under Destination Lapland's conduct and with the help of many local professionals, in good state pleasing the expectations of the guest as well as Ukko. The ball has been spinning for already over a decade now and with the same spirit we will go on.
